Catherine Anne (Eidem) Barthel, age 65 of Monticello, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018. She was born May 28, 1953 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Gerald and Mary Catherine (Steinhagen) Eidem.
Cathy enjoyed her job at Hanna Andersson and the friends she made while working there. She also enjoyed her girls’ nights at her Mom’s house, eating ice cream with her grandson Wyatt, and spending time with her family –especially her husband and grandchildren.
Cathy had a strong Faith that inspired others. She was a Carmelite Third Order member.
She is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Barthel; father, Gerald Eidem; and brother, Greg Eidem.
Cathy will be deeply missed by her husband, Daniel Barthel; daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Richardson and Kimberly Moon; daughter-in-law, Sara Barthel; grandchildren, Brooke Eisenstein, Wyatt and Madison Barthel; mother, Mary Catherine Eidem; siblings, Mary Schwark, Connie VanTreek, Lauren Loes, Beth Reller, Larry Eidem, Chuck Eidem, Carol Crotty, Amy Mastrud, Paul Eidem, Mike Eidem, Jerry Eidem and their spouses; best friends, Dianna Anderson and Cecelia Chapp; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at the Church of St. Andrew, 566 4th St. NW, Elk River MN.
