Caryl Ruth Collins, age 93 of Elk River, MN, formerly of Hibbing and Hoyt Lakes, MN, passed away May 23, 2020.
She was born on October 22, 1926 in Hibbing, MN to Jesse and Maude (MacArthur) Porteous.
Caryl was joined in marriage to George Eugene Collins and they happily raised four children together.
She was a member of Living Word Church in Brooklyn Park. Caryl enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Caryl is preceded in death by her husband, George in 2005; son, George Jr in 1969; and sister Lois Peterson.
She is survived by her daughters, Caryl “Candy” Schneider (Arthur), Sue Stevenson, and Cindy Collins; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Due to the social distancing regulations, this will be a private ceremony for family only.

I’m so sorry to hear about Caryl. She was a wonderful first lady. We all missed when she moved from Great Falls. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. She left you with lots of memories to recall. God bless all of you.
