Carolyn Vivian Burns, age 89, of St. Michael passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.
Vivian was born on April 26, 1926 in Montevideo, MN the daughter of Martin and Selma Pearson Moe. She graduated high school in Graceville, MN and attended nursing school at Hamline University.
Vivian was a member of the Legacy Choir, Recorder Choir, bridge club, and Daughters of Isabelle.
She enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great-grandsons, shopping trips, lake life, traveling, bridge, and reading. She had a heart of gold.
Preceded in death by first husband, Keith Kennelly; second husband, Robert “Brick” Burns; and parents, Martin and Selma Pearson Moe.
Survived by children, Jack (JoAnn) Kennelly of Chicago, IL, Jerry (Laura Dickenson) Kennelly of Minneapolis, Barb (Clyde) Pritchard of Maplewood, Paul (Pat) Kennelly of Minneapolis, Neil (Pauli) Kennelly of St. Paul; grandchildren, Kate, Jon, Mike (Sarah), Hayley, Patrick (Katie), Carolyn (Luke), Kevin, Aurea (Mark), Samantha, Tessa, Charlie; great-grandsons, Cody, Ronan, Jake, Andrew, Connor, Corbin; sisters, Margaurite (Jim) Griffith of Morris, Ivern (Larry) Rubiba of Puyallup, WA, Sister Karen Kennelly, CSJ of St. Paul; her friends at the Legacy in St. Michael; and many other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 26, 10 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN. Celebrant will be Father Joah Ellis.
Interment Tuesday, September 29, 2 PM at Graceville Consolidated Cemetery in Graceville, MN.
Pallbearers are Vivian’s grandsons, Jon Pritchard, Mike Pritchard, Patrick Kennelly, Kevin Kennelly, Luke Smith, and Charlie Kennelly.
Very sorry to hear about Viv. She was a very nice lady and a great person. We won’t be able to attend the funeral, as we will be at our oldest daughters house. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Mike $ Mary
You already know that Viv was a gem.She sent me many note and cards after my parents passed. she helped me to find peace with it.I owe her gratitude. As a wise nun told me…she can do more for you in heaven than on earth. I believe she will… We were all fortnate to have her in our lives.
