Caroline LeAnn (Eastling) Peterson, age 68 of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away on November 18, 2020.
She was born on February 29, 1952 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to LeRoy and Nettie (Bonniwell) Eastling. Caroline grew up in Cokato. She graduated from Dassel Cokato High School in 1970. Resided her family in Buffalo.
Caroline worked for several years at the Dassel nursing home, and then at Walmart in Buffalo for 20 years.
In her free time, you could find her tending her flower and vegetable gardens, creating miniature fairy gardens, doing crossword puzzles, and dancing. She loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they would go for walks, spend time outdoors, and go to the local parks to play.
Caroline had a very caring and energetic personality. She loved having long conversations with family and friends and could make new friends very easily with her fun and easygoing nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Nettie; brother, Gary Eastling; and niece, Kari Block.
Caroline is survived by her children, Debbie (Aaron) Friedrichs, Greg Peterson, and David (Jessica) Conlin; grandchildren, Deserae (Jaden) Fortune, Zachary and Austin Friedrichs, and Madison, Rylee, and Logan Conlin; great-grandchildren, Carter and Thomas Fortune; siblings, Kathy (Kenneth) Block, Lester Eastling, Margaret Eastling, Darrell Eastling, Dorothy Drake, and Edward Eastling; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo, MN. Inurnment will take place at Swedish Mission Cemetery following the service.

I’m so sorry for you’re family’s loss! She was such a purely sweet lady! I had the privilege to work with her at Walmart. Her laugh was contagious and made everyone smile! She will be greatly missed!! Thoughts and prayers to your family!

Oh Caroline, beautiful soul & friendly smile. I’ll never forget you walking by my house on very hot days to walk ALL THE WAY TO WALMART from over by lake Pulaski. WhenI asked why in the heck are you walking, your reply was, ” I let Greg use my truck because he has further to go than me”. That’s when our friendship started. Picking you up whenever I seen you walking & sharing quick conversations. What a pure joy to get to know you! Family & friends are definitely going to miss everything about you!
She will be greatly missed. She was a vibrant wonderful woman with a beautiful sweetness in her soul. May God hold and bless the family at this time of loss. She has joined the spot the angels have opened for her to adorn with her wings. Love and miss you, Caroline.
She was an amazing friend. She always watched out for me. But, more special to me, she took my son under her wing. They had a very special bond, she always told me she loved him as she loved all of her grandchildren. She talked so highly of all of her family and was so proud and loved you all. Your mom was the sweetest lady. Almost every time I would go into Walmart I would see her. I knew their would be a few minute conversation and it would be about the grandkids mostly and what they did. Or it would be something about her kids and guess what they did and she was so excited. I loved how excited she was about everyone. You all were her everything. I still can’t believe she is gone.

I’m sad to hear sweet Caroline has passed from this works too the next. I used to babysit you guys when we lived in the apartments and still remember you! She was such a dedicated single mom, such a good, sweet person. I had the pleasure of having a nice catch up conversation about all you kids a few years back with her, and am so happy about that. It’s been my pleasure getting to know Caroline. I knew when I went to the store, there was a good possibility I’d be having a conversation with her. She fought this disease for a while with optimism and plenty of courage. Our visits the last couple of years were about her progress and her battles. Today when I realized she wasn’t there a sadness came about.

She was always so full of smiles and a sweet person to chat with. I met her at Walmart as a customer and always made a point to find her at work and chat with her. She will be missed dearly.

I am SO sorry to hear of Carolines passing. I with SO many others have known her for years by way of Buffalo Walmart. She ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and well, a conversation that always made ne feel special. She was special because she has the same name as my grandmother.
