Carol Anna O’Leary 69 of Sartell, MN, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Sartell.

Carol Anna O’Leary was born September 6, 1941, in Hurley, WI, to Kenneth and Alma (Olson) McKellar. She graduated from Hurley High School, and then attended St. Scholastica College in Duluth, MN, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1963.

Carol was united in marriage to J. Patrick O’Leary on June 22, 1963, in Hurley, WI. To this union four children were born. The family settled in Duluth for a short time, and then lived several places across Minnesota and South Dakota. Carol worked as a nurse, specializing in geriatric care. Carol and her husband moved to Buffalo in October of 2001. After her husband passed away, Carol moved to Pennock, MN, in 2003 and has lived with her daughter in Sartell since 2008.

Carol’s passion in life was working with the elderly. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, baking, gardening and canning. Family celebrations were an important part of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her children: Patrick J. (Lori) O’Leary of Redwood Falls, MN; Michele (Bruce) Geiser of Glenwood, MN; Kathy (Maurice) Schendzielos of Sartell; and Timothy Edward (Christine) O’Leary of Shakopee, MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Alma McKellar, her husband J. Patrick O’Leary on November 19, 2002, and four brothers: Richard, Ed, Ken and Tom McKellar.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 4pm at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN, with the Rev. Matthew Molesky officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.

Casket Bearers were Patrick O’Leary, Timothy O’Leary, Maurice Schendzielos, Bruce Geiser, Auston Schendzielos, and Christopher Geiser.
