Burley Dean Stevens, age 70 of Buffalo, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on June 20, 1946 in Buffalo, Minnesota, the son of Jack Charles and Gloria Wanda (Kitzman) Stevens.

On October 28, 1967, Burley Stevens and Janice Schumacher were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota by Pastor Berwald.

Burley was a pipe fitter in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a crane operator at Fabcon Precast for 35 years, and was a member of the IUOE Local 49. Burley enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, dancing, bowling, playing cards, and camping.

Burley is survived by his mother, Gloria Stevens; wife, Jan Stevens; children, Bradley (Bobbi VanMuyden) Stevens, Michael (Michele) Stevens; grandchildren, Brentley (girlfriend, Tyla) Stevens, Adam (Jessie) VanMuyden, Samantha VanMuyden, Brady Stevens, Joey Stevens, Danielle Stevens, Derek Stevens, Nicole Stevens, Delaney Stevens; great-grandchildren, Addelyn Stevens, Brantley Stevens; siblings, Dixie (DuWayne “Champ”) DeMarais; sister-in-law, Linda (Daniel) DeWitte; many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Stevens; brother, Craig “Tex” Stevens; and nephews, Ryan DeWitte and Daniel DeMarais.

Honorary casket bearers will be Bradley Stevens, Michael Stevens, and Burley’s grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Tim Bond, Scott Niesen, Jeff Niesen, Marvin Schumacher, Larry Donovan and Reed DeMarais.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Funeral services for Burley Stevens will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Ryan Clark will officiate the service. Interment with Military Rites to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo, Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
