Bonita Ruth Steffens, age 76, passed away on June 22, 2024 at The Terrace of Crystal in Crystal, MN.

Bonnie was born on September 1, 1947 in Monticello, MN – the daughter of William Mathew and Joyce Myrtle (Weber) Steffens. She grew up in St. Michael and lived there for the greater portion of her life. She graduated from St. Michael Catholic High School with the class of 1966.

Bonnie worked many jobs in her life; she worked many years for Tonka Toys in Mound until their departure of the state. She then worked at Log House Foods and Wagner Spray Tech in Plymouth, Carlson Market in Maple Plain, which became Archway in Rockford, and several temp jobs until health issues forced her to retire.

She had many health battles in her life: cancer, several falls with one resulting in multiple screws and pins in her shoulder, a broken neck, concussion, Covid in May 2020, and then a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia after the concussion due to a fall. But she always said, “I am too stubborn to give up!”

She enjoyed shopping, loved her church family at the Monticello Covenant Church, reading, especially her Bible, doing word searches, crossword puzzles, and talking on the phone with her friends, especially her cousins to remember the “good old days”.

Survived by her sister, Shelly (Greg) Theis; niece, Sarah Theis (Ben); uncle, Ken Weber; and many cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Joyce (Weber) Steffens; grandparents, Charles and Dora Steffens, and Robert and Laura Weber; and godson, Randy Kottke.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael-Albertville (300 Main Street N). Visitation will begin two hours prior at 11:00 AM.
