Beverly Norma (Biegert) Palmer, age 92, of Greenfield and Maple Plain died Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Haven Homes in Maple Plain MN.

She was born on Sunday, September 21, 1930 at home on her family farm in Greenfield, the daughter of Richard & Helene Bauer Biegert.  She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She graduated from Rockford High School in 1948. Worked from 1948-1953  for Munsingwear in Minneapolis as a comptometer operator (computer) ordering all the threads used for the Munsingwear line of underwear, shirts, etc..  On October 25, 1952, Neil Edgar Palmer and Beverly Norma Biegert were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Reverend W.P. Haar. God blessed their marriage with three children. Kathy Joy in 1953, Barbara Rose in 1955 and John Richard in 1957.

Beverly worked part-time at the newly built Maple Plain Elementary School as a lunch room lady.  She is remembered by students there for inventing playground games at recess—and included singing with her!  She was also active in Orono Singers as a lovely soprano.

Beverly was a faithful member of Salem Church, formerly belonging to Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain until 1996.  She and Neil worked side-by-side in caring for the Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Maple Plain—taking great pride in the landscape of the cemetery.  She was also active with Neil in Lutheran Brotherhood/Thrivent activities in addition to his coaching (and her cheering) for youth boys baseball teams in Maple Plain.

After moving to Greenfield, she poured herself into many activities including:  Hanover Senior Citizens, Greenfield Historical Society, Preserve Green Acres and the Rockford All-school Reunion.  Among family she is well-known for her meticulously made quilts, log cabin quilt patterns were her specialty.  And her home and yard were full of flowers—most notable the dozens of African violets of all colors.

Preceded in death by husband Neil, parents Richard and Helene Biegert; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Shelby and Ethel Palmer; brothers (and in-laws) Richard Jr (MaryRose) Biegert, Harvey Biegert and sister-in-law and husband, Ruth (Lauren) Coleman.

Survived by children Kathy (Stuart) Larson of Park Rapids MN, Barbara (Keith) Watschke of Minneapolis MN, John (Andee) Palmer of South Ogden UT; Three grandchildren:  Erica (Jeremy) Skoglund of Bismarck, ND, Jennifer (Stephen) Shafer of Seattle WA, and Scott Palmer of Leland, NC; Four Great Grandchildren (and penpals) Adeline Skoglund, Kjersten Skoglund, Clark Shafer and Evan Shafer; Sisters-in-law Nancy Biegert of Loretto and Zoe Ann Palmer of Spring Park MN; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, “shirt-tail” relations and friends.

Interment will be in the Salem Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Greenfield, MN

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Salem Church or Greenfield Historical Society.
