Betty Lou Whitney was born October 14, 1936 in Ortonville, MN to Wayne and Hazel(Lutz) Bonn.
She grew up in Summit, South Dakota where she attended high school graduating as valedictorian with the class of 1954.
Shortly after high school, she met Roy H. Whitney, and the two were happily married on September 1, 1954 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, South Dakota. Together they raised three children in Robbinsdale, MN.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Betty enjoyed volunteering in various organizations in the Robbinsdale area; she was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was known for her creativity, gardening and the love of nature.
survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Roy; children: Nancy(David)Miller, Sandra(Dale)Jemberg, and Gregory(Michele); grandchildren: Brian(fiancé Belle Barclay) and Laura(Matt)Czech; great-grandchildren: Andrew and Jacob Czech; and brother: Darwin Bonn. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese at Oxbow Lake, Brooklyn Park. Visitation one hour before. Memorials preferred to the MN State Services to the Blind or Long-term Care at St. Therese at Oxbow Lake.
