Betty J. Bermel age 83, of St. Michael passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at New River Nursing Home in Monticello.

She was born on October 15, 1928 in Parkers Prairie Township, Minnesota the daughter of Ervin & Florence Strahl Sutton.

On January 23, 1946, Betty J. Sutton & Anthony P. Bermel were joined in holy marriage at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. God blessed their marriage with four children.

She belonged to The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Betty also was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary #567 in St. Michael, V.F.W. Auxiliary #9073 in Randall and St. Michael and Hanover Senior Citizens.

Survived by loving children, Larry (Judy) Bermel of St. Michael, Theresa (Tony) Conzet and Marie (Jim) Jones, all of Monticello and Rayne (Dale) Wenholz of Hugo; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Sutton of Clear Lake; a sister-in-law, Del Bermel of Greenfield; a brother-in-law, Bernard Bermel of Clear Lake; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Anthony P. “Tony” Bermel on November 3, 1992; her parents, Ervin and Florence Sutton; a sister, Dorothy Fischer and by a grandson, Destry Bermel. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Bermel was held at 11:30 AM Saturday,August 4th at The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Honorary Casket Bearer was Shannon Conzet. Casket Bearers were Shane, Chad and Travis Bermel, Aaron Conzet, Larry Pohlkamp and Todd Anthony Jones.

    Our condolences to this special family. What a wonderful woman. We are truly blessed to have had her as our loving cousin. May she rest peacefully in heaven, she has paid her dues on this earth.
