Betty Mae Erickson was born to immigrant parents on September 24, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at her residence in Buffalo. Betty was adopted at a young age and her real name was Christina Boginoff. Betty graduated from High School in Fort Wayne in 1945. She married Lester Erickson on July 14, 1948. She was very proud of her heritage. She formerly worked at many jobs including at Dayton’s Department Store and later for ten years at Fritz’s Bakery in Buffalo. Betty also engaged in house cleaning in the Metro area. She enjoyed bowling and fishing. Betty belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, The American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She always was a good writer and was fond of scrapbooking. Survived by a son: Gary M. Erickson of Buffalo; three granddaughters: Tasha, Emerald and Kerry; a sister: Sue Claycombe of Baltimore, Maryland; nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by her husband, her parents: Storian & Toda Boginoff, sisters: Mary and Ann; brothers: Tom, Pete, Chris and Mike.

Funeral services for Betty Erickson will be held on Friday, March 20th, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Interment follows at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, March 20th at the church one hour prior to services.

Casket Bearers will be Jerry Erickson, David Ludders, Larry Klingelhoets, Joe Campbell, Rick Klingelhoets and Neil Christensen.

    Gary, this is your sister, Sharon. I am so sorry about your mother. I am coming out to see you on Friday. I remember Betty coming to my graduation from High school. I would see her off and on during the following years.
