May 20, 1948 – November 22, 2020

Bert was born on May 20th, 1948 to Earl and Dorothy(Powers)Carlson. He married the love of his life LouAnn(Strand) on April 12th, 1975. They were blessed with two amazing children, Carl and Melanie and four perfect grandsons, Cole, John, Caden and Jake. He loved being with his wife, they were never more than two steps behind one another. He enjoyed going up to the cabin in Longville with family and friends and loved to fish. He loved watching his grandkids in all their activities and sports; he never missed an event they were in. Bert learned many valuable life lessons and skills during his working years. He worked at Fanny Farmer and Lakeland Bakery during High School, he serviced 4 years in the Army and overseas in Korea. When he returned home, he worked at MnDOT; repairing traffic signals, then at NSP for many years and finished his career at Zirc; maintaining the building, machines and various other tasks. He made lifelong friends while doing the jobs he loved.

His favorite thing to do was helping fix everything his grandsons broke; and that was a lot!

Visitation is planned for Wednesday, December 2nd from 4-7pm at Peterson Funeral Home in Buffalo; a private service will be held at 7pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Urn bearers: Cole & Caden Carlson and John & Jake Dahlheimer.
