Bernice M. Von Bank, age 88 of Zimmerman & formerly of St. Michael died peacefully Saturday, September 19, 2009 in her sleep at The Milaca Elim Home.

She was born in Albertville on August 24, 1921 the daughter of Anthony “Tony” & Ruth Michaelis Vetsch.

On May 8, 1946, Bernice M. Vetsch & Nestor D. Von Bank were joined in holy marriage at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis Park. God blessed their marriage with six children.

While a resident of Zimmerman, she attended St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a former faithful member of The St. Michael Catholic Church and belonged to The Christian Mothers.

Survived by children: Sharon (Mike Matras) Von Bank of Boca Raton, Florida, James (LaDonna Meinecke) Von Bank of Corcoran, Janet (Clay) Huikko of Zimmerman, Ted (Carla) Von Bank of Rogers, Tim (Mary) Von Bank of St. Michael & David (Teresa) Von Bank of Rogers; seven grandsons: Joel, Jason, Henry, Jared, Willie, Peter & Brian; twelve granddaughters: Shannon, Leah, Tonya, Emily, Sarah, Jamie, Danielle, Laura, Samantha, Catherine, Haley & Helaina; seven great grandchildren: Samantha, Tony, Michael, Mikaela, Joseph, Mitchel & Saul; two brothers: James (Lou) Vetsch and Carroll Vetsch; two sisters: Myra (John) Olson and Theresa (Harry) Sjodahl; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband: Nestor D. Von Bank, a daughter-in-law: Elizabeth “Lee Ann” Von Bank, her parents, two sisters: Helen Vetsch & Henrietta Radermacher & by four brothers: Albert, Gary, Leon and Jerome Vetsch.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice Von Bank will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 24th at The Church of St. Michael (on Frankfort Parkway) in St. Michael. Father Kevin Anderson will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael Albertville Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4-8 P.M.

Further visitation at the Church on Thursday morning, September 24th one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers are her twelve granddaughters.
