Visitation Information

Barbara M. Bjorklund, age 65, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 as the result of an auto accident.

Barbara Martha was born on February 9, 1942 in Minneapolis to Gunnar Ernst and Martha Wilhelmina (nee Anderson) Rundquist. A Class of 1960 Richfield High School graduate, Barbara attended Augsburg College for a time. On July 1, 1961 she married Arlo Bjorklund at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Earth. Barb first worked as a parish secretary for the Normandale Lutheran Church, then for Univac. Barbara and Arlo were blessed with two sons, so she became a homemaker for many years. Later, Barb drove a school bus for the Rockford School District. She recently retired from the Rockford Post Office where she was a rural mail carrier for over 20 years. Barbara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had served on the altar guild and assisted the funeral luncheon committee by baking cakes. A warm and gregarious person, Barb enjoyed people and was very active; she liked to shop, fish, dance, travel, and be with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara Bjorklund is survived by her husband, Arlo; sons: Tony (Lisa) of Mankato, and Brooks (Trisha) of Otsego; brother, Bertil Rundquist of St. Cloud; sister, Diane Walters of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren: Rachel, Avery, Natalie, Miranda, and Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law; and, very recently, her mother-in-law.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2007 at
Zion Lutheran Church. Burial is in Zion Cemetery. Visitation is
Sunday, 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel and resumes at the church, one hour before the funeral. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to: Harriet Rundquist Memorial Fund at St Cloud State University.
