Audrey A. Tessmer, age 90, of Loretto passed away on Saturday, February 12th, 2011.
She was born on August 31, 1920 in Rockford.
Audrey was baptized on November 14, 1920 at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on April 9, 1933 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Her confirmation memory verse was John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
On June 25, 1944, Audrey A. Schleif and Marvin A. Tessmer were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood Township. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Mr. & Mrs. engaged in dairy farming.
Audrey was a faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.
Survived by loving children: Judy Arndt of Menasha, Wisconsin, Jean (Fred) Pfotenhauer of Rogers and James (Rachel) Tessmer of Loretto; ten grandchildren: Tierney Arndt, Heidi (Dan) Lindner, Joel Arndt, John (Erica) Pfotenhauer, Luke (Jocelyn) Pfotenhauer and Katie Stodola;Anna (Eric) Bramos, Lara (William) Radintz, Jared Tessmer and Maria (Nathan) Eckhoff; ten great grandchildren: Lilly, Audrey and Benjamin Radintz, William and Andrew Bramos, Jack Pfotenhauer, Jacob & Seth Pfotenhauer, Thomas & Lydia Stodola; two sisters-in-law: Delphine Schleif and Dorothy Tessmer; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by husband: Marvin A. Tessmer in 2004, son-in-law: Ron Arndt in 2009, great granddaughter: Sofia Bramos, her mother, a brother: Vincent Schleif and by two sisters: Bernice Gorian and Fern Bursch.
Funeral services for Audrey Tessmer was held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 16th at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Pastor Dennis K. Strong officiated. Jan Nelson was the organist for the funeral service.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, February 15th AT THE CHURCH 4-8 P.M. Prayer service 7:30 P.M.
Casket Bearers were John and Luke Pfotenhauer, Joel Arndt, Jared Tessmer, William Radintz, Eric Bramos, Nathan Eckhoff and Daniel Lindner.
