I am so sorry to read about Arlene’s passing. She was very helpful to me, while I was researching & writing “The House That Kirscht Built,” and in the years after, when she would telephone me and send letters with the latest births, marriages, and deaths in her large family. She was from that generation in the St. Michael, Albertville, Buffalo, and Monticello area that is almost gone now—how sad for us of the 21st century.
