Anna Valerius, age 90, of Albertville passed away peacefully July 26, 2018.

Survived by her sons Mike (Linda), Al (Cheri), Jim (Lori), Kevin (Becky), Donald (Joyce), Bill (Lisa) & Jerry (Dawn); grandchildren, Angela, Amanda, Andrew, Adam & Anna; Casie, Tracy & Lance; Brandon, Kyle, Kari & Travis; Jessica, Ryan & Sandra; Kaylee, Jayna & John; Aaron & Alayna; Ashley & Nicolas; and 27 great grandchildren; sisters Leona, Irene, Jeanette, Susie (Claude) & LaVerne (Dick); brothers John & Andy (Mary); brother-in-law Gilbert (Anna Mae).

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Alfred; parents, Wenzel & Mary Panek; Father/Mother-in-law John & Martha; brother Ambrose; sisters Josephine, Mary, Rose & Betty; daughter-in-law Cindy; brother-in-laws Ralph, Art V, Russ, Nick, Francis, George, Tony, Louis, Art S & Jerry; and sister-in-laws Vonnie, Emelda, Karen, & Bernice.

Anna was born and raised on a farm in St. Anna with her parents and 12 siblings. With many things needing to get done with such a large family, Anna’s main job was to help with cleaning and cooking, having to peel potatoes for hours on end. She left the farm when she was 18 to work a waitress job in St. Paul where she met the man of her dreams, Alfred. Ann and Alfred were married on Sept 29, 1952 and had 7 boys. Anna was a long time, active member of St. Alberts Catholic Church and belonged to the Christian Mothers.

She was known for baking loaves of bread for the whole family. Every first Friday of the month, any kids or grandkids that could make it, would play poker many times past midnight. Even though Anna never drove a car, she never missed a family event. She was always on the go. She enjoyed her sight-seeing & casino bus trips; card clubs & Red Hat events. Anna loved being with people and accepted every person as they were, never placing judgement, just enjoying their company. She will truly be missed by all who were lucky to know her!

Visitation will be held Tues., 7/31/18, from 4-8 PM with prayer service at 7 PM at the Church of St. Albert, 11400 57th St NE, Albertville MN. Mass of Christian Burial Wed., 8/1/18, at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at church.
