Anita G. Roden, age 81, of St. Michael, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 23, 1928 in Albertville the daughter of Jacob & Regina Barthel Vetsch.
On May 29, 1951, Anita G. Vetsch & Daniel G. Roden were joined in holy marriage at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville. God blessed their marriage with eight children.
Anita was retired from Decorative Services.
She was a lifetime, faithful member of The Church of St. Albert in Albertville.
Anita enjoyed; gardening, quilting, helping others in need, visiting family in nursing homes, spending time with her children, grandchildren and her fellow Residents at ridge Drive Apartments in St Michael. She also enjoyed camping and boating with her family even in her later years; they made sure she didn’t have to rough it out.
Survived by children, Karen (Steve) Lefebvre of Grand Rapids, Daniel “Butch” Roden of Albertville, William (Lois) Roden, Elaine (Mike) Czech and Joyce (Dave) Plude, all of St. Michael, Steve (Jean) Roden of Owatonna, Cathy (Charles) Amann of Marine- on-St-Croix, and Amy (Gary) Schoen of St. Michael; former daughter-in-law, Joelle; twenty two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, also sister, Beatrice Doroff and brother, Eugene (Barbara) Vetsch, both of Little Falls, other in-laws include, Bernice Vetsch, Geraldine Vetsch, Mary Vetsch, Louis (Yvonne) Roden, Margaret Heinen, Greg (Teresa) Roden; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Daniel (in 1971); parents, five brothers: Alvin, Harold, Arnold, Cletus and Ammon Vetsch, and by a sister: Bernadette Barthel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anita Roden will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 19th at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville.

A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, December 18th from 4-8 P.M. with a Prayer service at 8 P.M. Friday evening. Further visitation on Saturday morning one hour prior to Mass.
