On February 7, 1921, Anita was born in Watertown to Carl and Sophia (nee Beckerfeldt) Bartels. She was baptized Anita Bertha Wilhelmiua Bartels on the 20th of that same month and was confirmed on April 14, 1935, at St. Johannes Evangelical Lutheran Church in Young America. Anita completed the course of studies prescribed by St. John™s Lutheran School in Young America on June 1, 1935. She worked as a housekeeper for her sister and it was then that she was introduced to Donald Tesch near the Karels™ farm. On November 9, 1938 they were united in marriage in Plato. They moved to St. Paul where they lived for a time before moving (in the mid-late 40™s) to their farm in Waverly. Anita, an excellent cook, assisted Donald with the farming and was a homemaker. She was known for her homemade egg noodles and soups. In the mid 70™s they retired to Buffalo. About twenty years later they moved to Battle Lake, and only recently moved to St. Cloud. Anita enjoyed sewing, quilting and designing the appliqués for the quilts and pillows she made. She loved flowers and spent many happy hours sitting outside enjoying them.
