Andrew “Pete” Merges, age 73 of Albertville, passed away on December 12, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on April 3rd, 1940 to Andrew and Lucille (Barthel) Merges on the family homestead in Monticello.

Pete honorably served his Country in the United States Army.

On April 23, 1966, Andrew B. “Pete” Merges and Renee Meyer were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Church in St. Augusta.

Pete was formerly employed as an Assessor for Wright County for many years.

He was a faithful member of The Church of St. Albert in Albertville.

Survived by his loving wife of forty seven years: Renee Merges; a son: Gary (Missy) Merges; a daughter: Karen (Jim) Kemmetmueller; eight grandchildren: Maddison, Alex, Hannah Merges, Dennis, Katelyn, Jacob, Sara and Emma Kemmetmueller; a brother: Loren Merges; sister-in-law: Mary Merges; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Andrew Peter & Lucille Merges, a brother: Shirley Merges and by a sister-in-law: Kate Merges.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Pete Merges will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at 10:30 A.M. at The Church of St. Albert in Albertville. Father Peter Richards will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Albert Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 16th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Further visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, December 17th at the church from 9-10:30 A.M.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Sara & Emma Kemmetmueller.

Casket Bearers will be Maddison, Alex, Hannah, Dennis, Katelyn and Jacob.

    Renee & Kids,
    The world lost a great and talented man who would do anything for a friend. We went to him for advice so many times. Enjoyed listening to his stories and his jokes. Many a laugh was shared at campground. We will surely miss YOU!
