Alvin Joseph Dressen, age 86 of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was born in Tyler, MN on August 9, 1931, the thirteenth child born to Anthony Francis and Inez Mae (Wenzen) Dressen.
Al grew up on a farm, graduating from Belle Plaine High School. After high school, Al enlisted in the Unites States Air Force and served from 1951 to 1955. He worked at Loberg’s Plumbing and Heating, and retired from the Buffalo Hospital after working many years as Chief Mechanical Engineer.
On February 27, 1954, Alvin Dressen and Mary Catherine Allison were united in marriage in Wichita, KS. The two were blessed with three children. On August 1, 1959, Alvin Dressen and Margaret Mary Geary were united in marriage in Maple Lake, MN.
Al is well known for his Dressen’s Bar-B-Q Beef. He enjoyed classic cars, carpentry, fishing, camping and traveling. Al was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the Buffalo American Legion Post 270 for 55 years.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine Dressen on January 29, 1959; second wife, Margaret Dressen on February 4, 2008; granddaughter, Lindsey Dressen; parents, Anthony and Inez Dressen; and 10 siblings and their spouses.
Al is survived by his children, Michael (Michiko) Dressen, Terrie (Mike) Piram, David Dressen; six grandchildren, Tina (Bryan) Revolinski, Cassie (Jesse) Seestrom, Luke (Alissa) Piram, Whitney Dressen, Taylor Dressen, Devany Dressen; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Dressen, Anthony (Colleen) Dressen; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 300 1st Ave NW, Buffalo MN. Interment with Military Rites at St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.

Dear Family – Your dad will always be remembered for his kind heart, great smile and his famous Bar-B-Q Beef… Another great soul is gone and will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Mike, Michiko and the entire Dressen family. I pray for God’s peace during this difficult time.
