Alta “AJ” Marie Jennings
age 83 of Buffalo and formerly New Hope, passed away on August 21, 2017.
Beloved mother, grandmother and friend. AJ was born and raised in the small town of Lyle, MN. One of seven children of Esther and Louis Jorgenson.
AJ had an independent and spunky nature, oftentimes leading others in mischievous behavior. She moved to the twin cities after high school and attended secretarial school.
She then met the love of her life, Dwight. They married and had four children. She was primarily a homemaker, but also helped Dwight start his own company; and she dabbled in some entrepreneurial adventures.
She loved to travel, garden and spend time at the lake. She also enjoyed golf, antiquing and shopping. She loved art and music, reading and playing games. But most of all she loved spending time with her kids, and later in life with the grandkids.
AJ moved to Cottagewood a year ago where she enjoyed making new friends. Often described as a social butterfly, she was enthusiastic about joining in the variety of activities offered at Cottagwood, such as games, crafts, music and dancing. She prided herself about being able to walk around the block until her final days.
She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed.
Survived by children Dawn’l Burns, David (Pat) Jennings, Kristin (James) Huro and Stacey (Lee Cokes) Jennings; grandchildren Jake, Zachary and Ian; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
