Allen A. Lenneman, age 84, of St. Michael, passed away on January 30, 2011 at Mercy Hospital.

He was born on November 11, 1926 in St. Michael, the son of Thomas and Emma (Barthel) Lenneman. On November 10, 1951 Allen was joined in holy marriage to Elda M. Vetsch at the Church of St. Albert in Albertville. God blessed their marriage with 7 children.

Allen farmed near St. Michael. In 1987, he retired and moved to town, but he still kept somewhat active on the farm. He always wanted to help with whatever he could. He loved to plant corn, combine and chop stocks. In his earlier years, he sold Cargill seed corn and spent 9 years on the Frankfort Twps. Board.

Allen is survived by his children, Greg (Denise) Lenneman of St. Michael, Theresa (Gordy) Berning of Albertville, Eugene (Julie) Lenneman, Barb (Brian) Dalbec, Wayne (Deanna) Lenneman, Brian (Angela) Lenneman and a son-in-law, Keith Antil all of St. Michael. Allen is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Irmina Mathis; a brother, Tom (Joann) Lenneman; and a brother-in-law, Wallace Barthel. He was preceded in death by his wife Elda (2009); his parents; his daughter, Mary Antil (1991); his sister, Jeanette Barthel and his brother-in-law, Cyril Mathis.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Church of St. Michael in St. Michael.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1st from 4-8pm at The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main Street North in St. Michael. A Prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at the church.

Casket Bearers include: Tom Berning, Tegan Lenneman, Kevin Berning, Randy Lenneman, John Berning, Theo Lenneman, Tyler Antil, Travis Dalbec, and honorary bearers are Michael & Joseph Lenneman.

Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

    So sorry to hear of Allen’s passing. I loved seeing him at the clinic. He was so enjoyable and friendly to all. I know all of us, especially his doctor and nursing staff, will miss him greatly.
