Age 76 of Buffalo, passed away June 22, 2016. Allen was born on September 7, 1939 in St. Cloud, MN to Axel and Elma (Annala) Karie.
He was baptized and confirmed in his faith at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Cokato.
Allen served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1962.
On August 28, 1965, Allen and Doris (Goerke) were united in marriage at the Lutheran Church of the Triune God in Brooklyn Center, MN
Allen worked several different jobs all for FMC and Northern Pump.
For the past 30 years Allen has spent his summers at Sherwood Forest near Aitkin, MN.
Allen was very active and was a member of the American Legion Post 131 in Maple Lake. He also served as the 10th District Commander from 2006 to 2007.
For enjoyment he spent many hours hunting, fishing, and playing card, especially Texas Hold’em with his son Jim.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Elma Karie.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, James and John Karie; favorite dog, Daisy; siblings, Eunice (Jerry) Abrahamson of Mankato, Ronald (Diane) Karie of South Haven, Dean Karie of French Lake, Marlyn Welte of Cokato, Darryl Karie of French Lake; aunt, Tillie Mountain (age 103) of California; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services for Allen Karie will be held Tuesday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. all at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Reception to follow at church.
Officiating was Pastor David Taylor of St. John’s Lutheran.
Casket bearers will be Darryl Karie, Julie Perrizo, Ray Perrizo and Kyle Karie.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in French Lake.

    To Allen’s family: I am so sorry for your loss. Allen was a quiet guy but funny. He will be sadly missed by many. You do have all those memories of him that will be with you forever. He is now fishing up there and he will be watching over you. I cannot come to the service but my thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God bless you all.
