Alice Marie “Sunny” Laxen, age 95, of Buffalo and formerly of Hamel and Maple Lake, passed away on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born on January 5, 1919 in Garner, Iowa the daughter of Charles & Julia Chmela Urich.
On October 7, 1953, Raymond Laxen and Alice Urich were joined in marriage at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake.
Alice loved her dogs and cats!
Survived by a brother: Ken (Patty) Urich of Maple Lake; a nephew: Brian Urich of Maple Lake and by a niece: Judy (Tom) Neumann of Buffalo; other relatives & friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Laxen on December 2, 1982, her parents: Charles & Julia Urich, a brother: Ray Urich and by a sister: Dorothy Urich.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Laxen will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Father John Meyer will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow on Friday, April 25th at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Special music will be provided by The Resurrection Choir.
Reader for the Mass will be Peggy Marquette. Gift Bearers will be Adam Neumann, Natalie Neumann, Zach Marquette, Sam Marquette and Jacob Galles. Servers will be Alex Marquette, Matthew Neumann and Nathan Galles.
Casket Bearers will be Randy Galles, Randy Urich, Bill Neumann, Kevin Marquette, Brian Urich and Tom Neumann.
Arrangements for Alice Laxen are by The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
