Alice Erma Geist, 91, lifelong resident of Rogers and recently of St. Therese of New Hope Care Center, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, May 17, 2008.
She was born on August 23, 1916 in Hassan Township, Hennepin County the daughter of Jesse & Elizabeth Dahlheimer Babler.
Alice was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Church in Rogers and also belonged to its Christian Mothers. She also was a member of The Dayton Senior Center.
She is preceded in death by parents Jesse and Elizabeth (Lee) Babler, one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne (Jan Schieffer), Dale (Posie Skeans), Gary (Mary Joan), and one daughter, Diane Benner (Robert), thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and many loving relatives and friends.
A devoted and proud mother and father (MaPa), who was dedicated to the happiness of her children, grand and great-grandchildren, will also be greatly missed by her Rogers and Dayton Senior card friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Geist was held on Tuesday, May 20th at 11:00 A.M. at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Rogers. Father Mark Moriarty was the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Martin Cemetery in Rogers.
A visitation was held on Monday, May 19th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the church. A Prayer service was held at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening.
Casket Bearers were Chris Benner, Pat Darling, Aaron Geist, David Geist, Jesse Geist and Logan Geist.
Family extends gratitude to the caring staff at St. Therese. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mary Queen of Peace Building Fund, 21304 Church Ave, Rogers, MN 55374.
