Alfred “Al” N. Zarrella, age 54, of St. Michael passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home.
He was born on June 26, 1964 in Bronx, New York the son of Alfred and Theresa (Lazzaro) Zarrella.
He honorably served his Country in The Army National Guard.
Al was employed as a surgical technologist at Mercy Hospital. He formerly owned and operated Alzarr Trucking.
He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Al also enjoyed going to the cabin and to the hunting shack.
Al was a very strong person. He fought his battle against stage four pancreatic cancer for 4 years and 3 months.
He was a member of The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael and belonged to The Association of Surgical Technologists.
Survived by his loving wife: Rosemary; daughters: Terra (Randy) Knoble, Patricia Dahlheimer, Christine (David) Rush and Theresa (Brian) Dahlheimer; nine grandchildren: Luke Jansen, Cade Jansen, Samuel Knoble, Ariel Knoble, Fiona Knoble, Avery Rush, Emily Rush, Dean Dahlheimer and Rosemary Dahlheimer; his father: Alfred Zarrella; his mother: Theresa Zarrella; a brother Michael (Annie) Zarrella and by a sister: Collette Marchioli; other relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by a sister Mary and nephew Michael.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred “Al” Zarrella will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Father Peter Richards will be the Celebrant. Special music by Colleen Holker.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Friday, December 28th one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Randy Knoble, David Rush, Luke Jansen, Michael Zarrella, Brian Dahlheimer, and Steve Holker.

My deepest sympathies. I am planning on coming tomorrow, I want to say goodbye to my dear friend Al. Rosie, I want to meet you, although I feel I know you. So spoke so lovingly of you.
