Agnes A. (Weber) Berning of St. Michael, 89, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Agnes was born on October 13, 1926 in Fletcher, MN, the daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Hagel) Weber.
On May 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond A. Berning of St. Michael at St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher, MN. God blessed their marriage with 11 children, 20 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survived by her children: Monica (Jack) Mueller; Diane Berning & friend Roger Williams; Linda (Hank) Van Erp; Carol Frenz; Al Berning & friend Barbara Flasch; Joan Berning; Paul (Kim) Berning; Peter (Lynn) Berning; Larry (Patty) Berning; Julie Berning (Scott Colebank); Dan (Sharon) Berning. Agnes is survived by her brother Gilbert (LaVerne) Weber and sister-in-law Elva Weber; brother-in-laws and sisters-in-laws Jerome Berning; James and Mary Berning & Dolores Berning.
Preceded in death by her husband Raymond in March 2005; son-in-law Mark Frenz & a grandchild; her parents Charles and Henrietta (Hagel) Weber; sister Pearl Buckman; brother Richard Weber; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Marcus and Teresa (Kasper) Berning; in-laws Norbert & Evelyn (Berning) Stupfel; Robert and Doris (Berning) Lee; Joseph Berning and Anita Berning.
Agnes’ greatest love was her family, she was a very special Mom and Grandmother. She was a great cook, baker and loved to garden. She enjoyed watching her grandkids in many sporting events; concerts; dance recitals; birthday parties. She loved playing cards and visiting with family.
She graduated from Elk River High School and worked at Dayton’s downtown Minneapolis before getting married. Ray and Agnes farmed for many years on the east side of Pelican Lake.
Agnes was a great homemaker and after all the children were grown up, she then worked at Parkview Care Center; the Sears catalog store and the Buffalo Civic Center where she and Ray managed for many years. They delivered the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper until they retired.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Further visitation at the church Thursday morning one hour prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
