Adeline F. DesMarais,age 89 of rural Buffalo, passed away on Tuesday, October 27 at Sunrise Assisted Living. She was born on December 18, 1919 to Alexander & Kathryan (Bukosky) Thibodeau in Rockford Township on her grandfather’s farm. She lost her father at the age of five. Adeline lived with aunts and uncles and moved around Minneapolis. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1939. Adeline F. Thibodeau married Dominic L. DesMarais on June 14, 1941 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. They moved to a farm in Monticello Township where their marriage was blessed with six children. Adeline and Dominic engaged in farming for many years. She was a member of The Catholic Order of Forresters for thirty-two years acting as the secretary and treasurer. Adeline is also a past president of the Council of Catholic Women, a faithful member of The Church of St. Francis, made baptismal bibs for St. Francis Catholic Church for eighteen years and volunteered her time to write letters to the elderly. She loved to sew, embroider, make quilts, garden, travel and be involved with the Christian Women of Annandale. Adeline moved to Sunrise Assisted Living in 2006. She enjoyed her time there and had many wonderful days going places and visiting with the people. She is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Dominic; children: Judy (James) Weldele of Buffalo, Kathryn (Dennis) Donovan of Buffalo, Steve (Pam) DesMarais of Buffalo, Rosalie Myrlie Riley (James Riley) of Buffalo and Dominic DesMarais Jr. of Buffalo; grandchildren: Teresa (Danny) Clifton, Jerry (Amy) Smith, Daniel (Adrean Carlson) Weldele, Debbie Weldele, Diane (Joe) Toohey, Brenda Blade, Annie (Kirt) Fischer, John DesMarais, Brian (Amy) DesMarais, Caroline (Reid) Wilbur, Carl DuCharme, Scott (Kristi) DuCharme, Marie Myrlie, Jane (Brandon Geyen) DesMarais, Michael DesMarais; 11 Great grandchild; brother, Leonard Thibodeau of Buffalo and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by son Edwin DesMarais in 1970; infant granddaughter Sally DesMarais in 1973; her father accidentally in 1924; her mother in 1967 and sister: Betty (Lloyd) Kippley. Visitation is Friday, October 30th from 4-8 P.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo with a prayer service at 7 P.M. further visit one hour prior to mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 31st at 10AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Internment will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family…..
