Abraham P. “Abe” Cation, age 69, of Becker passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on July 11, 1942 in Greenwood, Mississippi the son of Alex & Josephine Carter Cation.

He grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He went to College on a football Scholorship and was also on the Dive Team

Abe honorably served his Country in The United States Army serving twenty one years and was a highly decorated Veteran. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded a Silver Star and two bronze stars. Abe traveled the world while in the Army.

On July 5, 1986, Abraham P. “Abe” Cation & Susan G. Erickson were joined in holy marriage in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Following his discharge from military service, Abe established “Abe’s Upholstery.

Survived by his loving wife: Susan; sons: Jason, Samuel and David all of Becker; a son: Abraham Jr. and by a daughter: Rosalyn (Daryl) of Greenwood, Mississippi; a grandson: Daryl; a sister: Virginia Cation of Greenwood, Mississippi and by a brother: Alex (Alisha) Cation Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; mother-in-law: Joyce Erickson of Buffalo; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Johnnie and by a sister: Frankie.

Funeral services for Abraham “Abe” Cation will be held on Monday, February 6th, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at The Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo.

Interment with full Military rites at Swedish Mission Cemetery in Buffalo.

A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, February 6th one hour prior to services.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Alex Cation and Lee Richardson.

Casket Bearers will be Jason Cation, Samuel Cation, David Cation, Steven Erickson, Jerry Kappa, Bruce Koch.

    I first met Abe some 20 years ago in his shop. We instantly became good friends. Over the years I would stop in and he would tell me how his boys
    were doing.

    We were so shocked of the hearing of Abe passing. We will miss him and remember all the fun we spent in Rockford with everyone. We loved him very much. Sorry Sue and kids for your loss. He was a great man.
